Susie and Barb, On behalf of the Ahrendtsen family, I would like to offer my condolences on the passing of your mother. Gert was a wonderful friend to my mother for many years. Lots of memories of your mother coming in the back door and doing a little happy dance come to mind. Our mothers were part of the exercise craze in the 70's when they met most days at Elaine Powers at the Shopping Center to keep fit and trim. Remember the roller machine that spun around? Gert gave me a dated Christmas ornament with a sweet note the year of my wedding. I still put it on my tree each year and always read the note. Your mother was a kind, positive lady and your parents are a part of the Ahrendtsen family history of happy memories.
Mary Ellen Ahrendtsen Sabey
Susie and Barb, I'm thinking of you and wishing you comfort and strength during this sad time.
My prayers for you, Barbara and Susan, I remember you both as little girls who lived above us on Golf Ave. many years ago. Bill and Gert and Bill were dear friends. They will be sadly missed.
Whenever I ran into Gertrude in the village, she was always friendly and smiling, a gentle evolved soul. I'm sorry for your loss. Louise White
Susie, I am so very deeply saddened for your family's loss. My prayers and sympathy go out to you, your sister and of course your father.
You did a beautiful job on the obit. Gives those of us who didn't know her a small picture of what a full and accomplished life she led.
My sympathy and prayers to all the family but especially to you and Barb.
Dear Susie, I was so saddened to hear of the loss of your father and now your mother. One can only imagine that they wanted to be together after so many years. My heart goes out to you, as I understand only too well the pain which is felt by such a deep loss. My deepest condolences to you and your family, and please know that you are not alone in your grief, and that your parents are now both in heaven, and that they are watching over you always. Lots of love, Alessandra
