Mrs. Sophie O. Mock, 97, of the Masonic Care Community, formerly of Whitesboro, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. She was born March 4, 1916, in Utica, the daughter of the late Alex and Mary Parobij Onyszczak and was educated in local schools. On June 1, 1940, at St. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Church, Utica, she married Cleon E. Mock. He passed away January 19, 1969. Mrs. Mock was a former parishioner of St. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Church, Utica. She is survived by several devoted nieces and nephews. Per her request, services will be private and at the convenience of the family at the Bentz Funeral Service, Inc., 470 French Road, Utica/New Hartford, with Rev. Mark Kaminski officiating. Interment will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park, Clinton. There will be no calling hours. The family extends many many thanks to the caring and thoughtful staff of the Masonic Care Community, for their wonderful care and compassion.
I was devastated by passing of Sophie. I spend 5 days with her with a lot of fun and she was so nice to me I steel can believe that she spend last 5 days with me. Her passing scared be to death I steel can believe. I am so sad and sorry about Sophie's passing away. She was so sweet.. She shared a lot of stories with me,, My condolence to the family of Sophie Mock.
Karen and Debbie I am so sorry about Sophie she was a great lady I will miss hear on Monday for her hair app. She would always tell me were you went on sat she was so happy to have you both

I'm so glad that you had her so long in your live.she was a sweetheart.after 7 months of retiring from Wiley I went back to visit everyone but she was the first one I had to go see and told her to tell you I was.
