She was born August 19, 1915, in Utica, the daughter of the late Luigi and Catherine Carnevale Comito and was educated in Utica schools. On October 24, 1936, at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Utica, she married Michael A. La Bella, a loving union of 55 years. He passed away November 6, 1991. At one time, she was employed with the Oneita Knitting Mill. Mary's passion in life was to be a good mother and right up to the time of her death was a "special mom". She is survived by her devoted and loving children, Mary Lou Cotton of Balston Spa, Kathleen LaBella of Utica, Nicholas S. LaBella of Utica and Michael G. LaBella of Utica; a sister and brother-in-law, Anne and Hon. John P. Balio of Utica; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, Joseph, Frank, Dominick and Samuel Comito; and a sister, Antoinette Mocogni. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 11:30 am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, Utica. There are no public calling hours. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frankfort. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and entire staff of the emergency room, ICU and 3B at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, for the loving and tender care given to Mary. Arrangements are under the guidance of the Bentz & Amodio Funeral Service, Inc., 470 French Rd., Utica/New Hartford.
