Ira L. Davis, 90, of Holland Patent, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, with his daughter Cynde by his side.

He was born September 28, 1930, in Hornell, the son of the late Ira L. and Eloise Caple Davis. He was a graduate of Alfred Almond and received his BA degree from Syracuse University at Utica College. Mr. Davis served as a Staff Sergeant with the US Air Force during the Korean War. On June 5, 1954, at the Barneveld United Methodist Church, he married Sylvia L. Beachley, a loving union of 63 years. She passed away December 27, 2017. For many years, Mr. Davis was an Engineer in the Aerospace Division at General Electric.

He was a member of the Holland Patent American Legion Post #161, B.P.O.E Utica Lodge #33, the Trenton Fish & Game Club and the Quarter Century Club at General Electric.

Ira enjoyed camping, spending time with his friends at the Kayuta Lake Campground, was an avid model airplane enthusiast and designed and built whirligigs, his favorites being Tweety and Sylvester.

He is survived by two daughters, Cynthia "Cynde" Synakowski and her companion, John Nicolosi of Holland Patent and Trish Hartman of Lebanon, TN; a sister, Geraldine Goss of Geneva; a brother-in-law, Ronald Beachley of East Liverpool, OH; 8 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Lola Fursman; three brothers-in-law, Francis Goss, Sidney Fursman and Francis "Bub" Beachley; two sisters-in-law, Lillian Mallory and Jean Beachley; and a grandson, Sean Hartman.

Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Evergreen Cemetery in Barneveld.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the IMCU at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare and the NYS Veterans Home at Oxford, for their many acts of kindness and dedication.
