Sherry Goldstone, of New Hartford, passed away on Sunday December 2, 2018 with family beside her at Sitrin Healthcare Center. She was born in Utica on May 20, 1938, the daughter of Manuel and Bertha Rosen. Sherry was a graduate of Utica Free Academy and the Eastman Dental Dispensary in Rochester. On March 12, 1961, she married Ronald Goldstone, a periodontist in whose office she worked. In addition to being a loving wife, mother and Bubbie to her six grandchildren, she was a consummate caregiver to extended family, friends and the community. Sherry was very active throughout her life in numerous causes and philanthropies. She served as president of Temple Beth El and its Sisterhood, Chairman of the Board of the Sitrin Healthcare Center, head of the Oneida County Republican Women's Committee and president of the Dental Hygienist Association. She was a life member of Hadassah and champion of Holocaust remembrance. Sherry loved to be a "host" of family, friends and community events, especially in her home. She was also an avid reader and loved to discuss and lend her many books. Her husband Ronald as well as Sherry's brother, Donald, predeceased her. Sherry will be especially missed by her children, Michael (Ceci) Goldstone of San Antonio, Texas, Deborah Goss of New Hartford and Elissa (Gary) Eichin of Queensbury; her grandchildren, Samuel and Isaac Goldstone, Jacob and Justin Goss, and Caila and Luke Eichin; nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Her family wishes to thank the numerous compassionate caregivers at the Sitrin Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 5 at 10 a.m. at Temple Beth El, 2710 Genesee Street, Utica, with Cantor Kalman Socoloff officiating. Private interment will be made in Temple Beth El Cemetery where Sherry will be laid to rest next to her husband. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Wednesday, at Temple prior to the funeral. Shiva will be observed on Thursday, December 6, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. and on Friday, December 7, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 32 Foxcroft Road, New Hartford. In Sherry's honor, kindly consider Temple Beth-El or the Sitrin Healthcare Center. Funeral arrangements are with Bentz Funeral Service, Inc., New Hartford.
