Gertrude Gladys (Gagnon) Trepasso, 89, of the Lutheran Home and formerly of Utica/Whitesboro, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, with her family by her side. She was born June 22, 1928, in Utica, the daughter of Dustin and Gladys Trzcinska Gagnon and was educated in Utica schools. On December 22, 1945, at St. Joseph's Church, Utica, she married Peter Kryszczuk. He died June 14, 1960. In St. Joseph's Church Rectory, Utica, she married Francis Trepasso on December 21, 1963. He died March 27, 1994. At one time she resided in Fulton, returning to the Utica area in 1974. For many years, Mrs. Trepasso attended the First Assembly of God Church in Utica. Gertrude, always the life of the party, enjoyed family get-togethers, horse racing and collecting recipes. She was a kind, loving, and humble person, who brought joy to everyone she met. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and LoLo Santiago of Utica; a son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Helen Kryszczuk of Lansing; a sister, Janet Kusumoto of Tacoma, WA; a sister-in-law, Twila Gagnon of Shelton, WA; eight grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her step-mother, Anna Gagnon; two brothers, Eugene and Donald Gagnon; a sister, Dolores Borreginne; and her special friend of over 30 years, Joseph Viggiano. Gertrude's family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of the Lutheran Home and St. Elizabeth Medical Center ICU for their compassionate care. A private celebration of her life will be held at the convenience of her family. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Yorkville. Arrangements are with the Bentz Funeral Service, Inc., New Hartford.
