In memory of Jim, kindly consider the Harding Nursing Home.

James M. (Jim) Kelly, 52, of Waterville, passed away Monday, November 1, 2010, at the Harding Nursing Home, from complications of Huntington's Disease. He was born July 13, 1958, in Milford, CT, the son of Samuel C. Kelly and the late Joan Hopkins Kelly, and was a graduate of Foran High School in Milford. Jim worked in construction, a paper mill, and layed carpet, prior to working at the American Food Co. in Stratford, CT. In 2004 he relocated to Waterville to be near family. Jim liked hunting, fishing and the outdoors, and also had a lifelong love of horses. He is survived by his father and step-mother, Sam and Gertrude Kelly of Stockwell; a sister, Barbara Kelly of the Harding Nursing Home, Waterville; a brother, Daniel Lee Kelly of Meridian, MS; a nephew, Stephen Kelly of Newport News, VA; and two aunts, Arlene Kelly and Darlene Kelly, both of Stratford, CT. Services were held at the convenience of the family with interment in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Waterville. The family wishes to acknowledge the entire staff of the Harding Nursing Home and Dr. Francis Chabot, for all their wonderful care and compassion. Arrangements are with the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, Waterville.

My genuine sympathies to the Kelly family. Though we never met, James Kelly and the Kellys of Waterville are my cousins on my dad's side of my family. Royal F. Plante was my dad; his mother was Mary Helen Kelly. Their first cousins were Francis "Franny" Kelly of Waterville, John "Jack" Kelly, of Truro, MA, and other Kellys whom I've not seen and I never met but heard about growing up in Utica, NY. I'm two years younger than James. My Uncle George Plante owned the gas station on Main Street, Waterville, over 40 years. Blessings, Girard A. Plante Newton, MA

James enjoyed our visits on Saturday. I visit at Harding with my Therapy dog Dempsey. James was always ready to feed Dempsey snacks. My sincere condolences.
