Eileen J. Frost, 63, of Doolittle Rd., passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 1, 2009, in Florida, with her family by her side. She was born February 13, 1946, in Rome, the daughter of Vera Countryman Hurlbut and the late Kenneth Hurlbut. She was a graduate of Remsen Central School, class of 1964 and the Utica School of Commerce. On September 3, 1966, at St. Patrick's Church, Clayville, she married her soul mate, Franklin J. (Frank) Frost. For many years, Mrs. Frost worked side by side with her husband in the operation of their dairy farm. In 1994, they sold their dairy and continued raising crops. She was a parishioner of St. Bernard's Church, Waterville. Mrs. Frost was a member of the Oneida County Farm Bureau, where she served as editor of the farm bureau news letter for many years and was a past chairperson for the Oneida County Dairy Promotion Committee, where she was the recipient of the "Silver Cow Award" in 1988, for her work in dairy promotion. Eileen was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. She enjoyed making crafts, gardening and knitting caps and scarf's for people. She is survived by her husband, Frank; her mother, Vera of Westernville; three children, Michelle Frost and her fiancÚ James Battista of Canastota, Franklin, Jr. and Natalie Frost of Sauquoit and Cheryl and Marty Thomas of WV; three grandchildren, the "apple of her eye" Kenneth Frost of Sauquoit and Lindsay and Kyler of WV; her brother, Kenneth Hurlbut of Buffalo; her brother-in-law, Edward Kozak of Rome; her sisters-in-law, Carol Capron of Clinton and Jacqueline and Robert Moore of Sauquoit; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Audrey Kozak in 1988. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 am at St. Bernard's Church, Waterville. Spring interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Paris Hill. Calling hours are Friday evening from 4-7 at the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, 210 E. Main St., Waterville. The family wishes to extend many thanks to their very special friends, Donald and Luana Humphreys, and to Dr. Alicia DeTraglia and Dr. Eric Yoss and staff's, for all their kindnesses over the years.
