Charles E. (Chuck) Jaquays

Charles E. (Chuck) Jaquays, 80, of Tower St., passed away Friday, February 22, 2008 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, with his loving family by his side. He was born March 4, 1927, in Waterville, the son of the late William and Addie Madison Jaquays and was educated in Waterville schools. Mr. Jaquays was a US Army veteran of WW II. On October 14, 1948, in Hudson, he married Lois Estep. For over 30 years, Mr. Jaquays was an engineer with Kelsey-Hayes (Utica Corp) in Whitesboro, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Clifford J. Fulmer American Legion Post #92, the Waterville Lions Club, the American Bowling Association, the Tuesday Morning Coffee Club and for over 40 years was a volunteer junior bowling coach. Chuck was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was an avid bowler and golfer who loved to travel, spend time with his family, play cards and visit the casino. He is survived by his wife of over 59 years, Lois; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Jim Howard of Arcade and Denise and Tim Tarbox of Deansboro; a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Lisa Jaquays of Canastota; a brother, Allen Jaquays of Sherrill; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Eleanor Bickford and Anna Reese; and three brothers, Francis (Dee), Kenneth and Frederick Jaquays. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Crown Hill Memorial Park, Kirkland. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, Waterville.
