In memory of Mr. Risley, kindly consider the Barton Hose Co., Deansboro.

Donald A. Risley, 77, of Deansboro, passed away Monday, December 22, 2008 at the Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center, with his family by his side. He was born February 22, 1931, in Knoxboro, the son of the late Howard and Mary Morgan Risley and was educated in Clinton schools. He was a Sergeant and Medic with the US Army, serving on the frontline, during the Korean War. He was highly regarded by his commanding officers and was recommended for any position that called for medical ability, aggressive leadership or grave responsibility. On January 2, 1954, in Madison, he married Olga Doroshenko. For 32 years, Mr. Risley was employed with Hinman Farm Products in Deansboro. He later retired from C. Weaver Chevrolet in Yorkville, as a Master Mechanic. Donald was always willing to help everyone and was also an excellent mechanic. He had a great sense of humor and was the "best dad and papa" in the world. He is survived by his wife, Olga; a daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Mark Peeling; two grandchildren, Donald Risley, III and Jessica Peeling, all of Deansboro; a sister, Gladys Risley of Utica; a brother, Ralph Risley of Utica; a daughter-in-law, Christina of Westmoreland; and several, nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. He was predeceased by a son, Donald A. Risley, Jr. in 1990; two sisters, Hazel and Irene; and two brothers, Stuart and Milt. A celebration of his life will be held privately by his family at the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, Waterville. Interment with military honors will be in Deansboro Cemetery, in the spring. There are no calling hours.
