Douglas C. Rogers

Douglas C. Rogers died on June 14, 2008. He resided in Safford, Arizona and is formerly of Brookfield, NY. Doug was born on July 11, 1924, the son of the late Albert L. and Reba N. Rogers. He attended Brookfield Central School and graduated in 1943. In 1943, Doug proudly joined the United States Army to serve his country in the European Theatre and in the Philippines during WWII. In 1946 he returned to Brookfield. He married and raised a family, ran a dairy farm as he worked at Mohawk Containers and Wickes Lumber and he completed his work in Brookfield at The Rogers General Store. Doug was a proud charter member of the Johnson-Rogers American Legion Post, a member of the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Brookfield First Baptist Church. In 1975 he moved to Arizona and began a washing machine repair service business. Upon his retirement he was active in his church duties, volunteer work at the VA and enjoyed playing dominoes with friends. Doug loved spending time with and doting over his dog "Monamie". Doug leaves his wife Margo and extended family in Safford, Arizona. Locally, he leaves his children, Royce and Sue Rogers, Mary Ellen Sanderson, Kathleen and David Conde and Constance and John Green. In addition he leaves several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as one sister in law (Nora). His parents and five brothers and four sisters-in-laws predeceased Doug. A beautiful service was held on June 17th in Safford, Arizona. Graveside services of burial and military honors will be held at the Brookfield Rural Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Local arrangements are being handled through the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home in Waterville.
