Anne R. Perlmutter, of New Hartford, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare. She was born in Utica, a daughter of the late William and Anna Aylward Rimiller and was a graduate of UFA and Utica College of Syracuse University. In 1965, in Utica, she married Charles Perlmutter. He passed away in 1996. In 2008, in Utica, she married Harold L. Klein. Beginning in 1969, Mrs. Perlmutter taught religious education at Temple Emanu-El in Utica and served as their principal for 17 years, retiring in 2004. She was a member of both Temple Emanu-El and Temple Beth-El, was a life member of Hadassah and was a board member at SUNY IT. She is survived by her husband, Harold; three children, Steven Perlmutter and his partner, Stephanie Chatellier of New Orleans, LA, Paul Perlmutter and his wife, Mary (Kim) of Marcy and Carol Perlmutter PhD, RDN and her husband, Todd Nelson of Tarrytown; two grandchildren, Patrick Perlmutter of Marcy and Kelly Somerville and her husband, Christopher of Slingerlands; three great grandchildren, Tyler, Lacey and Ava Somerville; her brother, George Rimiller and his wife, Jackie of Adams; and her sister-in-law, Barbara Rimiller of NC. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Jacqueline Perlmutter in 2001; her sister, Alice Rimiller; and her brother, William Rimiller. The funeral will be Sunday at 1:00 PM at Temple Emanu-El, 2710 Genesee Street, Utica, with Rabbi Cassi Kail and Rabbi Henry Bamberger officiating. Interment will be in Temple Emanu-El Cemetery, New Hartford. A calling hour will be held Sunday from 12-1 PM, prior to the service at Temple. Arrangements are with the Bentz Funeral Service, Inc., 13 Oxford Road, New Hartford.
