Elizabeth A. (Betty) Del Genis, 79, of Utica, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at the Abraham House, with her loving family by her side. She was born March 7, 1930, in Utica, the daughter of the late Frank and Marianna Giuliano Truglio and was a graduate of Thomas R. Proctor High School. On August 25, 1951, in St. Mary of Mt. Betty was deeply devoted to her Catholic faith and was a life long parishioner of St. Agnes Church. Betty's family and friends were her world and she helped to make this world a better place for all those she came in contact with. She is survived by her husband, Anthony; three daughters and a son-in-law, Arlene and Tom Bullen of Norfolk, VA, Charmaine Bill and her friend, Kirk White of Utica and Deanna Yaghy and her friend, Tom Roman of Yorkville; a son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Karla Del Genis of Bristow, VA; a brother, Anthony Truglio of Tampa, FL; six grandchildren and their spouses, Kristyn and Steven Greco, David Mykel, Sylvia and James Tobiasz, James Yaghy, Robert Yaghy, Jr. and Matthew Bullen; two great grandchildren, Adriana Tobiasz and Gianna Greco; her in-laws, Theresa and Fred Valenti of New Hartford, Victoria Del Genis Argen of New York Mills, Josephine Polak of Utica and Angela Jweid of New Hartford; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by a brother, Vincenzo (Jim) Truglio and a sister and brother-in-law, Rose and Tom Conte. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10 am at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church, Utica. Private interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of the Mass in the church vestibule. The family wishes to thank the entire staff and volunteers of Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. and the Abraham House for all their wonderful care and compassion. Arrangements are with the Bentz & Amodio Funeral Service, Inc., 470 French Rd., Utica/New Hartford.
