Kathryn M. West, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at the age of 76, surrounded by those who loved her. She was born April 9, 1933, in Utica, the daughter of the late Edward and Hedwig Huta McLoughlin and was raised in Sauquoit. Kay was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, who was beloved by all who knew her. She was a member of St. Joseph''s Catholic Church, Oriskany Falls. Kay was a long time resident of Deansboro and was a volunteer involved in many different organizations. She is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Howard; four sons, Mark, Matthew, Christopher and Tim (Pricilla); four daughters, Sue (Gerry) Sessa, Suzanne, Wendy and Vicki (Charles) Carroll; a brother, Bernard (Joan) McLoughlin of Rockville, MD; three sisters, Delphine (Earl) Boice of Belen, NM, Judith Angier of Edmond, OK and Anne (Handley) Jackson of Boonville; a sister-in-law, Hazel (Earl) LeClair of Clinton; 12 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by a daughter, Lynne; and two brothers, James and Justin McLoughlin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 am at St. Joseph''''''''s Catholic Church, Oriskany Falls. Interment will be in Deansboro Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday evening (tonight) from 5-8 at the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, 210 E. Main St., Waterville.

Howard, Mark, Matt, Chris, Tim, Suzi, Wendy, and Vicki: Kay was such a great person who will always have a special place in my heart. I have so many fond memories of her afternoon tea visits with my mom, the fun trip to camp, teaching religious education, her caring for the adults and many others. She was a special lady who will be missed. My condolences to all of you.

Dear Howard and family, I was saddened to read in the OD this AM that Kay died. We have not seen each other in a long time, but I will always remember our time together in Clinton. Try to celebrate all the good memories you shared over the 57 years. My thoughts are with you..
